2018 is/was? year 1 for us at Ashwidea. Today being one of the last few days of 2018 , its good time to recap on how the year has been. I don’t have star rating system unlike Rajeev masand or anupama chopra , but will try giving you a snapshot of how it went.
Waste et al We started the year with managing waste management project in Bidar, Karnataka.The project has ensured over 50 Tons of solid waste is not burnt or dumped in open. Incidentally our project site is right above underground ancient water canal , so our work also ensures it does not get polluted much.
Green office In this past year we have prepared bespoke products for companies , events and educational institutions. All of them are made of recycled/up-cycled/ handmade materials which are good for the environment and society.We would be adding more variety of products in coming year and hopefully turn few more brands turn a green leaf!
Running away ! I ran my 2nd 21 km race after a gap of 3 yrs at Bengaluru marathon. Ihad fun running past landmarks like cubbon park, St Andrews, MG road. It was also a fundraiser for Rereeti which is working to make an exhibition on WW1 and Bangalore. We didn’t raise much, but did realize how runs can be great way to spread the word. Hope to keep running , Jab tak hai jaan!
Digital learning : Education continues to be a key area of work for many of the organisations we work with .We started with a small project introducing digital learning in 5 Govt schools. The students and teachers can take advantage of this by planning the lessons , going back to some content. It would make learning a fun exercise. We hope to scale up this activity in the coming year.
